Allan Horwood

Owner & CEO

Water has always been at the centre of Allan Horwood’s world. Growing up, the family pool was the centerpiece, and his love of water brought him to B.C.’s beaches and southern California.

He got his start in the pool business in 1984 and, after collecting 11 years of experience, decided to take the plunge and start his own company. In 1995, Pool Patrol was born.

That’s when Allan put his head down and got to work. What started as a one-stop-shop for everything pools and hot tubs in Vancouver became a tightly specialized pool safety cover company focused on pool covers: infinity-edge, automatic and manual; as well as removable pool fences.

The business only continued to grow, expanding to the Okanagan in 2018 with a warehouse in Kelowna. Pool Patrol is now leading the industry in western Canada.

Allan oversees both locations—Lower Mainland and the Okanagan—and proudly represents the industry’s fastest-growing automatic pool cover company. He’s invigorated by the many hats he has to wear in order to run a booming business, as well as the close relationship he is able to develop with his customers and suppliers.

When he’s not working, you can catch him practicing yoga, golfing, or spending time with the family.

Office Manager

Is there anything Angie can’t do? A project manager by trade, Angie brings a wide range of invaluable skills to Pool Patrol’s team including administration, HR, marketing, and customer service.

She’s initiated, grown and supported projects big and small for most of her career. You won’t find her out in the field, but she’ll be the friendly voice you connect with when you call the office.

Her passion is learning new things and seeing the world. She’s traveled extensively, has lived and thrived in Japan and France, and enjoyed home exchanges across the globe with her family.

A keen sense of curiosity keeps her going, leading her to remote destinations and through unusual experiences, but at home in Vancouver you can find Angie steeped in her two book clubs, women’s group and baking for family and friends. Her husband and children are the lights of her life.

Eric Miller

Okanagan Regional Sales & Service Manager

Take all the tools in the tools box with the skills to use them, wrap it all in stellar people skills—and you’ve got Eric.

Our regional sales and service manager brings over a decade of automotive experience to the team. Before joining Pool Patrol, you could find Eric working as a senior mechanic with Leavitt Machinery and Nissan. Since coming on deck in 2019, Eric has been paramount in expanding business in the Okanagan.

His tenacious work ethic and endless passion for all things mechanical blends into his hobbies: everything motorsports-related, sleds, dirt bikes and race cars—if it runs with a motor, Eric probably wants to play with it.

The independence, variety of work, a balance between sales and installations, the one-on-one customer relationships he’s able to develop, trouble-shooting, and the satisfaction that follows a successful fix keeps him excited about the automatic pool cover company. Not to mention, an office or body shop can’t compete when your day-to-day backdrop is the scenic Okanagan!

When he’s not using his spare time fixing all things motorsports, find Eric boating, grilling and snowboarding with family and friends.

Russel Iverson

Pool Cover Installer & Technician

Russ isn’t one to shy away from hard work. The pool cover installer and technician grew up on a farm and worked in construction.

Before joining Pool Patrol he worked as an automotive technician where he honed a wide range of skills transferable to the pool cover industry, like his mechanical aptitude and hands-on tool experience.

His favourite part of the job is how the work day can take you to all the most beautiful places in the Okanagan while interacting with kind, friendly people. The icing on the cake is the sense of satisfaction he gets when completing a job and leaving a customer delighted with their new pool cover.

The Okanagan is the perfect fit for his lifestyle, where you can find him working on cars, racing them, dirt biking and mountain biking.

Todd Kujawa

Pool Cover Installer & Technician

Todd understands the importance of safety. A customer before becoming a member of the team, in 2008, an automatic pool cover was the right choice for his young family.

A teacher by trade, Todd reconnected with Pool Patrol in 2014 when, during a teacher’s strike, he decided to join the team.

His strong personal connection to our covers—an intuitive understanding of safety—is invaluable to Pool Patrol and our customers.

Todd brings with him an intrinsic passion for problem-solving and ingenuity that he inherited from his dad. This knack for creativity has been a necessary skill set on a job site, as installations and repairs can’t always follow a manual.

He gets a special enjoyment from the ability to see a project to fruition. There’s nothing like the satisfaction of knowing he’s left another job site with a fully operational—and safe—pool cover.

When not working, you can find Todd teaching music to elementary school kids or mountain biking all around the Lower Mainland—keep your eyes open!

Jesse Parnell

Pool Cover Installer & Technician

Jesse knows his way around a swimming pool. The pool cover installer and technician brought 15 years of experience building pools with him when he joined Pool Patrol’s team—and he’s stoked to apply that knowledge to automatic pool covers.

The confidence and skills that Jesse’s experience in the industry has nurtured are an integral part of Pool Patrol’s team, while working outside, problem-solving and knowing that he’s adding a major safety component to swimming pools keeps him energized about the work.

It brings him a lot of joy knowing he’s potentially preventing unsafe situations from arising, especially for small children around swimming pools.

In his spare time you can catch him spending time with his family, skateboarding, listening to music, and playing guitar.
